Breakfast today was super unconventional mainly because my 21-year-old is home from college and he wanted to make copycat Aunt Annies pretzel nuggets together. He ended up sleeping late into the morning and I was hungry so I made the pretzel nuggets without him. After downing about 12 of these (how much is a serving anyway?), I was craving a chocolate smoothie.

Now I am always trying to perfect my smoothies. I’ll add too much of this and not enough of that and sometimes wish I could start over. Well, this time I nailed it! This was the most satisfying smoothie I’ve ever made. It was the perfect consistency and had just the right amount of chocolatey goodness.
Favorite Chocolate Smoothie
4 french vanilla coffee ice cubes made the night before (add 4 plain ice cubes if you don’t want the coffee added)
1/4 cup Fage 2% Greek Yogurt
1/4 cup half and half (I use light cream and almond milk)
1/4 cup unsweetened almond milk
1 frozen banana
1 tbsp dutch cocoa powder
1/2 tsp Sweetleaf Stevia (more or less to taste)
You will need to freeze a banana and coffee ice cubes the night before. Then combine the half and half and the almond milk with a banana, the coffee ice cubes, yogurt, cocoa and stevia in a blender until smooth. Enjoy!
